Seeking Grant-Writing Mentors

Academy announces new opportunities to volunteer as a grant-writing mentor for IDEA Liaisons

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Committee is seeking volunteers for a short period of time to serve as grant-writing mentors for IDEA Liaisons. Appointed by affiliates, dietetic practice groups and member interest groups, IDEA Liaisons work at the grassroots level to advance inclusion, diversity, equity and access. They can apply for IDEA Mini-Grants ranging from $100 to $1,000 to support their group’s outreach and cultural understanding projects.

Mentors will meet two or three times with their mentees to brainstorm potential projects, review existing project ideas, and review mini-grant applications. The mentor function is to provide guidance and serve as a sounding board. Mentoring begins in January and concludes on March 1 — the deadline for mini-grant applications.

If you are interested in serving as a grant-writing mentor to IDEA Liaisons, please email us.
