Successful governing bodies define and delegate rather than react and ratify. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' leadership and governing structure allows the Board of Directors to govern the organization, while the House of Delegates governs the profession. Both the Board of Directors and House of Delegates represent all Academy members, working in collaboration to ensure members are the leading source of food and nutrition services.

Members are encouraged to get involved with the Academy's governance on any level — from learning more about current trends affecting the profession or submitting professional issues and concerns to volunteering for a committee or running for a national leadership position. The Academy wants to hear from members and wants to know your ideas, concerns and issues.
