The Academy is accepting applications for two CPT Fellow positions on its Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Editorial Panel advisory team, which supports the development and maintenance of the CPT codes used by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs).
Serving on this CPT Editorial Panel advisory team provides a unique opportunity to:
- Influence coding and reimbursement policies for nutrition services
- Strengthen relationships with the American Medical Association (AMA) and other specialty societies
- Contribute to the advancement of the profession
Time Commitment
Three to five hours per month plus three 3-day virtual meetings, with the possibility of future in person attendance; three-year time commitment.
Requirements
- Credentialed RDN and current Academy member in good standing, with ambulatory medical nutrition therapy (MNT) practice experience and a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Minimum of five years’ RDN practice; master’s degree required, doctoral degree preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in coding and billing; Medicare provider status preferred
- Experience collaborating with physicians in MNT referral, delivery, billing, team-based care or physician education settings
- Experience with Academy committees or task forces and familiarity with Academy policies; leadership experience preferred
- Ability and commitment to attend three 3-day virtual meetings annually, with the possibility of future in-person attendance
- Availability to prepare for and participate in CPT related activities including Academy workgroups, subcommittees, Academy Code Change Applications, as well as any other related meetings including evening conference calls
- Participation in Academy Policy and Payment Committee quarterly meetings
- Service in this volunteer role is subject to an annual review to ensure continued alignment with organizational needs, role expectations, and overall fit. Continuation in the role is contingent upon the outcome of this review.
