Retail RDN Virtual Coffee Break

Register to join on Tuesday, August 1, at 2 p.m. Central.

People are constantly thinking about food. In fact, consumers make more than 200 food decisions every day, and many more when they are grocery shopping. Supermarkets are where consumers decide what to feed themselves and their families, decisions that can impact their health and well-being.

Registered dietitian nutritionists working in retail settings are a credible resource for grocery stores to promote healthful eating and offer experiences that consumers not only value but also expect.

A 2017 Food Marketing Institute Report revealed that 81% of supermarket dietitian programs are considered a growth opportunity for the store, and 96% of those surveyed are committed to growing these programs within their stores. As these programs grow, registered dietitian nutritionists are going to be instrumental in executing and promoting them to each store’s target market. RDNs are the food and nutrition experts who can consult with shoppers and provide effective nutrition interventions and education.

Are you interested in a career in the food retail practice area? Join us on Tuesday, August 1, at 2 p.m. Central for a virtual coffee break featuring retail registered dietitian nutritionists Allison Yoder, MA, RDN, LD, and Krystal Register, MS, RDN, LDN. During this informal talk, they will highlight the greatest opportunities for RDNs within food retail, provide tips for how to prepare for a career within this fast-growing segment and share their most memorable experiences.
