The Clinician Information Surveys are now being sent out by Mathematica — if you receive this survey, please participate and share your feedback.

Payer fee schedules, including the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, currently rely on cost information originally compiled in 2006 to develop expense related values, the Medicare Economic Index and resulting provider payments. The U.S. economy and health care system have undergone substantial changes since that time, including inflation and the widespread adoption of electronic health records and other information technology systems. The 2006 practice expense payments no longer accurately reflect the relative resources that are typically required to provide services. This survey aims to better understand the costs faced by provider practices.

The aggregated survey results will be used in support of fair and accurate clinician payment.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the American Medical Association (AMA) and other health care professional organizations have contracted with Mathematica, an independent research company with extensive experience in survey methods and health care delivery and practice costs, to conduct this survey. Participants are randomly selected and may receive the survey via email or post; if you receive the survey, please complete and submit the survey.
