From Small Talk to GLP-1 Talk: Navigating Conversations Beyond the Clinic

Published October 19, 2026

GLP-1–based therapies are highly visible, widely discussed, and often misunderstood. RDNs are increasingly encountering questions and comments about these medications outside of clinical care, from social gatherings, and the workplace to online spaces. But when the person asking isn't your patient, what is your role and how should you respond?

This interactive webinar will provide practical strategies for navigating real-world GLP-1 conversations with colleagues, friends, family, and the broader public. Through relatable scenarios, participants will explore how to tailor responses based on the audience, context and intent; use non-stigmatizing, autonomy-supportive language; address misinformation; and recognize appropriate boundaries.

Participants will also consider how personality influences communication and use a practical decision-making framework to determine when and how to engage.

This webinar is made possible through a sponsorship from Eli Lilly to the Academy Foundation. This webinar is for information only and does not award CPE.
