Take Action Today and Help Americans Keep Food on the Table

More than 16 million people have applied for unemployment benefits since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this number will continue to rise.

Federal nutrition programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children; and school meals serve not only as the first line of defense against food insecurity — they are effective, efficient solutions that support local economies. They provide low-income families access to healthful food while supporting essential local jobs, such as in grocery stores and schools.

It is vital for Congress to include provisions in the upcoming fourth COVID-19 stimulus package that ensure everyone has access to these programs and protects the jobs of those on the frontlines — including Academy members.
