Hello Academy Members!
As we dive into the summer, I want to take a moment to celebrate the progress we've made and preview some exciting opportunities ahead.
First, I invite you to watch our new 2024–2025 Year in Review video, which highlights accomplishments that have moved the Academy and our community forward with purpose and momentum. From promoting science and evidence-based nutrition information to expanding leadership opportunities and advancing critical public policy, these milestones reflect our shared commitment to making a meaningful impact and positions our community for an even stronger future.
I also want to sincerely thank the thousands of Academy members who stood up for nutrition and food security. Together, more than 35,000 action alert letters were sent to Congress, over 5,500 social media engagements were generated and the Academy spearheaded a joint letter to congressional leaders signed by 20 national organizations. These unified efforts brought real attention to the importance of protecting access to vital nutrition programs.
While we remain opposed to the harmful cuts enacted through this recent legislation, we know there are still opportunities ahead. The Academy is committed to continuing this work by building strong partnerships, leading coalitions and helping shape solutions that move nutrition security forward. The groundwork is strong because of your involvement, and together we will keep showing up as a leading voice in this space.
We are also looking ahead to FNCE® 2025, taking place October 11-14 in Nashville. This year's theme, Feed Your Passion, is about more than food and nutrition. The keynote sessions are designed to challenge the way we think, show us how powerful storytelling and communication can be and encourage us to stretch our perspectives. No matter where you are in your career, FNCE® is a chance to reconnect with your purpose, recharge your energy and discover what's possible.
Our accomplishments, our passion for this work and the strength of our collective voice is powerful. When we come together through advocacy, shared purpose and events like FNCE® we grow stronger as a profession and as a community. Thank you for your commitment to the Academy, to one another and to the future of food and nutrition.
