Nutrition Educator and Mentor Tamara Randall Becomes 2026-2027 President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

CHICAGO – Registered dietitian nutritionist Tamara Randall, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES, FAND, today began her one-year term as the 2026-2027 president of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (the Academy), the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.
Randall is an instructor and director of the Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine where she leads an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics accredited program designed to prepare future registered dietitian nutritionists for success in the evolving health care environment. Her impact as an educator and mentor has earned her multiple awards and recognition, including the John S. Diekhoff Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching and the J. Bruce Jackson Award for Undergraduate Mentoring.
"I have seen firsthand how science-based nutrition education prepares future dietitians and helps the public make informed decisions about their health," said Randall. "At a time when nutrition misinformation is everywhere, the Academy is committed to elevating credible, evidence-based information and the credentialed experts who deliver it. I am honored to help lead this work and champion the essential role of registered dietitian nutritionists and nutrition and dietetic technicians, registered in advancing public health and strengthening the future of the profession."
Throughout her involvement with the Academy, Randall has held several leadership positions, including member of the Board of Directors, chair of the Member Value Committee, speaker of the House of Delegates, president and strategic planning chair of the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and roles on both the Ethics Committee and Council on Future Practice. Additionally, she chairs the School of Medicine Curriculum Committee at Case Western Reserve University.
Randall earned her undergraduate degree in nutrition, her master's degree in public health nutrition and a certificate in gerontology from Case Western Reserve University.
