RDNs and NDTRs are working hard with other school nutrition professionals to provide school meals to children in their local communities while our nation continues to deal with an unprecedented public health emergency. State agency leadership from three states provide an overview for the progression of USDA policy changes requested from the state agencies to support local districts in receiving necessary flexibilities to successfully provide meals during COVID-19. The future of school meals will be impacted by COVID-19 requiring RDNs and NDTRs to understand how to advocate and support the national school meal program moving forward.
