During all stages of the commission's deliberations, the Academy provided input to the commission and collaborated with other organizations to inform the final recommendations found in the report.

Academy priorities such as increased utilization of medical nutrition therapy for pre-diabetes and improvement to the Diabetes Self-Management Training Medicare benefit were included in the commission's recommendations.

The Academy continues its review of the report and will identify opportunities for implementation of the recommendations and for further advocacy. The Academy will also work to raise awareness of the report's recommendations with Congress in support of our legislative priorities.
