Academy Applauds Passage of Access to Baby Formula Act

05/20/2022 - The Academy commends the passage of the bipartisan Access to Baby Formula Act by the 117th U.S. Congress, which now waits the signature of President Biden. Once signed into law, this act will expand access to infant formula for WIC families as the shortage continues. This is one step in the right direction to address the infant formula shortage but more work remains to be done and the Academy will continue to advocate on this important issue.

Practitioners are encouraged to visit the Academy's Infant Formula Safety Resource Hub for updates and guidance, infant formula safety tips, a list of recalled formulas and alternative options and more. More information on the Academy's advocacy efforts during the infant formula shortage.

Academy members are encouraged to attend the next Nutrition Security or the Maternal Child Health Affinity Group meetings to learn more and get involved.
