Academy Policies Overview

Policies of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics cover a variety of topics related to the operation of the Academy and are determined by the Board of Directors.

These policies, which are outlined in the Academy Policy and Procedure Manual, cover a variety of topics related to the operation of the Academy and are determined by the Board of Directors. The master electronic copy of this manual is retained by the Executive Office at Headquarters. All policies apply to any organization activity within the Academy.

Academy Bylaws

Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Bylaws are rules adopted by the organization for governing meetings and association affairs. They define the relationship, the rights and the obligations for members, directors, officers and staff. Bylaws should be a living document, to be used, reviewed and revised as necessary. The Bylaws were last amended May 18, 2017.

If a motion is presented by a delegate to the HOD Leadership Team for their consideration and approval, it will be addressed following the HOD Meeting electronically.

  • Media and Spokesperson Policy

    In accordance with the Academy's vision that its members be recognized as the most valued source of food and nutrition services, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has a policy of open, proactive and highly professional communication with the nation's news media.
