This page provides a collection of practical tools and references to support the use of the NCP and NCPT in practice, education and research. Here you will find access to the NCP Scorecard, the QUEST tool, key references, and additional resources designed to enhance implementation and outcomes. Information about the NCPT Committee and its role in maintaining and advancing standardized nutrition language is also included. Together, these resources help dietetics professionals apply the NCP/NCPT effectively, promote consistency in practice, and demonstrate the value of nutrition care across settings.

Nutrition Care Process Quality Evaluation & Standardization Tool (NCP QUEST)
The NCP QUEST is an audit tool used to evaluate dietitian documentation notes using NCP. Developed through a joint study by the Academy and Advancing Practice Nutrition Consultants (APNC) of US Veterans Affairs, the NCP QUEST evaluates all components and links, especially outcomes as a result of continuous care (via evaluation of the full monitoring and evaluation step), new elements of the NCP Terminology such as status labels, and explicit documentation of the etiology category.
The tool has high content validity, which suggests its usefulness in improving accuracy in charting and helping to ensure quality data collection. In conjunction with a comprehensive manual, the NCP QUEST can be used as a practical rubric to apply or teach NCP effectively.

NCP/NCPT Scorecard
Use the NCP/NCPT Scorecard for nutrition care process improvement. This self-assessment tool identifies strengths and gaps in NCP/T in individual practice, systems, quality improvement, and/or practice evolution and continuity. Resources and FAQs to supplement the NCP/NCPT Scorecard may be helpful for its use.
Tutorials
The NCP Tutorial is a series of seven video modules, each approximately 10–15 minutes long, based on the 2023 NCPT. These videos provide an overview of NCP and explain the structure and organization of the NCPT.
Nutrition Care Process and Terminology Committee
The Academy's NCPTC is an international group of credentialed nutrition practitioners responsible for the oversight of development, maintenance, approval, and change management of a standardized care framework (the NCP Model), and related terminology (including NCPT).
The NCPTC's output creates the necessary infrastructure that enables data aggregation and analytics required to generate nutrition and dietetic outcomes. The NCPTC oversees the global strategic positioning of the NCP and terminology for successful international implementation.
