Prior Assessed Learning Service

Opening in early 2027, the ACEND Prior Assessed Learning (PAL) Service will evaluate current and prospective students' prior education and experience to determine whether they have met ACEND-required competencies.

ACEND's PAL Service is intended to serve current and prospective students across all ACEND-accredited program types, including Nutrition and Dietetics Associate Degree programs (AP with DT option), Didactic Programs in Dietetics (DPD), Coordinated Programs (CP), and a Dietetic Internship (DI) program (called Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) under the 2027 Standards).

ACEND's PAL service is uniquely positioned to support internationally educated professionals and second-degree students pursuing dietetics careers.

By formally recognizing prior learning and professional experience, this initiative advances ACEND's commitment to quality, innovative, and cost-effective pathways for students progressing through nutrition and dietetics education programs.
