Academy Proposes Additions to Nutrition/Dietician Specialty Measure Set in CMS' QPP

In comments submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services this week, the Academy advocated for the addition of several quality measures to the Nutrition/Dietician Specialty Set in the Quality Payment Program. Adding measures will make it easier for RDNs who participate in the QPP to reference and/or locate measures when reporting under Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, also known as MIPS.

The Academy requested measures related major public health screenings (depression and tobacco) be included as these are concerns which Medicare providers should be addressing. Other requests include measures related to diabetes care, which had pervious been available for RDNs to report under the Physician Quality Reporting System.
