Who Is ANDPAC?

ANDPAC is a group of clinical dietitians, private practice dietitians, school dietitians, public health and community dietitians, business owners, researchers, educators, students and others who donate to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Political Action Committee. ANDPAC uses donations — not Academy dues — to support political candidates for federal congressional office in support of the Academy's mission, vision and public policy priorities in the following impact areas: disease prevention and treatment; lifecycle nutrition; health food systems and access; quality health care; and health equity.

ANDPAC is:

  • Non-partisan
  • The only political action committee broadly focused on food, nutrition and health, supporting pro-nutrition candidates for federal office

ANDPAC is led by a board of elected/appointed individuals who work to achieve our goal of supporting pro-nutrition candidates for federal office. The ANDPAC Board of Directors meets every month to discuss the Academy's key policy issues and how ANDPAC can support these efforts.

Every job in nutrition and dietetics is affected by food and nutrition policy — and a strong ANDPAC is essential to the future of the profession and to the health and prosperity of communities everywhere.
