Gordon is the Hillsborough County community health director for the Florida Department of Health, where she has worked since 2005. Previously, she was the co-director of the dietetic internship and public health nutrition consultant at the Pasco County Public Health Department. Gordon is an affiliate assistant professor at the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health. Gordon is a member of the Florida Board of Medicine’s Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Council; Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County’s board of directors; and Hillsborough County’s Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board. She is a past member of the Academy’s Diversity Committee, Nomination Committee, Education Task Force and the Commission on Accreditation for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics’ board of directors. Gordon is a graduate of Pratt Institute. She earned a master’s degree in environmental health science from Hunter College – City University of New York and a doctorate in public health from the University of South Florida.
