Leadership Institute Program Details

Cohort Projects

Leadership Institute participants will have the opportunity to put leadership theory into practice through a long-term, small group cohort project culminating in a group presentation at the final on-site meeting. Cohorts will focus on one of the following nutrition issues facing the profession, with two groups working on each topic.

Participants will be asked to rank their top choices among these projects based on their level of interest, existing expertise and relevance to their area of work/study. The Academy will then assign each person to a cohort based on reported preferences as well as group needs and available space. At the initial kick-off meeting, members will have the opportunity to meet with their assigned cohorts in person, develop a project work plan and determine individual roles and responsibilities. Final presentation of cohort projects and outcomes will be presented at the second live meeting in June 2021.

Project Topics*

Cohort projects will vary in focus and address a spectrum of current and anticipated challenges facing the nutrition and dietetics field, from global malnutrition and cross-disciplinary communication, to nutrition research, advocacy and future nutrition credentialing needs.
