Quality Payment Program Overview

Signed into law in April 2015, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act repealed the Sustainable Growth Rate formula and combined various quality and reporting programs into one program - the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Now in year five, the QPP continues to focus on the transition of payments for Medicare Part B services away from fee-for-service to pay-for-performance. CMS also continues to evolve the QPP based on feedback received from Medicare providers. RDNs should expect to see changes in the QPP in the coming years.
