DGA Committee Releases Final Report for 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans; Academy Review Underway

07/15/2020 - The Academy is reviewing the  Scientific Report of the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, to which it contributed substantial input during its development.

July 15, 2020 - The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee released its Scientific Report of the 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. The U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services will consider the report as the agencies draft the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The final guidelines are expected to be issued later this year, and the report's scientific conclusions should ensure the guidelines are "based on the preponderance of the scientific and medical knowledge which is current at the time the report is prepared.
