From its vision, mission and strategic direction to its communication and implementation of activities and policies to an organizational culture where volunteer leaders, members and staff feel welcome, included and empowered to participate in a variety of activities—our leadership is centered around collaboration, innovation and respect to help ensure that the Academy has the direction and resources needed to achieve a world where all people thrive through the transformative power of food and nutrition.

The Academy’s leadership reflects a partnership between executive staff and our Board of Directors, supported by engaged volunteers serving through committees, dietetic practice groups, member interest groups, affiliate associations and other organizational units such as the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and Nutrition and Dietetics Educators. Together, these create a comprehensive leadership and governance ecosystem designed to implement strategic thinking and planning for concrete action and success metrics to move the organization and profession forward.
