Leadership Insititute Program Details

Individual Projects

Leadership Institute participants put leadership theory into practice through an individual project selected and aligned across a strategic impact matrix culminating in a brief presentation at the final on-site meeting. The matrix encourages each participant to select an individual project topic that best reflects a shared commitment to positively impact future practice. From the final selected topic, small workgroups will be formed and utilized for Leadership Institute participant engagement with expert mentors and staff. Ultimately, projects will vary in focus and address a spectrum of current and anticipated challenges facing the nutrition and dietetics field, from advocacy and cross-disciplinary communication, to nutrition research, professional development, and evidence-based research and practice.

Program

While details are subject to change from year to year to address timely needs and challenges, the general program of the Academy's Leadership Institute covers key concepts and cornerstone practices used by the world's most successful leaders. Participation in all virtual, online and in-person events are required in order to successfully complete the program. The Leadership Institute utilizes a virtual environment cultivated through Bizzabo and eatrightCPE.org from inception until arriving onsite. The Leadership Institute concludes with an on-site, two-day interactive meeting during which each participant showcases their individual project to invited guests using a live, four-minute pitch format. Details and training on the presentation process are embedded throughout the program to ensure all participants are prepared to meet the requirements of the program outcomes and overall expectations.
