Pursuing Dreams through Foundation Scholarships

Four scholarship recipients share how the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation helped open the door to opportunities during their educational experiences.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation is proud to serve as the largest provider of dietetic scholarships to deserving students at all levels of study. Individual scholarships range in value from $500 to $25,000 each. The total amount and number of Foundation scholarships awarded each year is determined by fundraising efforts and investment returns on scholarship funds. The Foundation manages scholarship applications on an annual basis through an external online application platform. While exact application opening dates and deadlines vary by year, Foundation scholarship applications, including all required supporting materials (recommendation forms, verification forms, etc.), are due in the spring.

To stimulate innovation and discovery within the nutrition and dietetics profession, the Academy Foundation proudly offers several annual research grants (determined by investment activity and fundraising efforts). The Foundation accepts applications for research grant funding on an annual basis. While exact application opening dates and deadlines vary by year, most Foundation grant applications are due in February (with some exceptions and occasional extensions). All applications for Foundation research grants are managed through an online application portal and applications must be submitted electronically, within the platform, for consideration. Emailed and hard-copy versions of applications are not accepted.
