World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative Reassessment

04/09/2019 - Experts from several organizations recently convened to conduct a reassessment of U.S. policies related to breastfeeding support as part of the World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative. The initiative reviews infant and child feeding policies every three to five years.

Following the workshop, a compilation of recommended changes is underway and will be shared with Academy members who participate in the Breastfeeding Policy and Advocacy Collaborative; a monthly gathering of breastfeeding advocates which is open to all members.

Two Academy members, Jeanne Blankenship, MS, RDN and Robin Stanton, MA, RD, LD, participated in the country-level review of infant and child feeding policies.
