Senators Introduce Health Care Reform Legislation

01/27/2017 - Sens. Cassidy (La.), Collins (Maine), Isakson (Ga.) and Capito (West Va.) introduced S. 191, the Patient Freedom Act of 2017, on January 23. The proposed bill would repeal federal mandates in the Affordable Care Act and give states three different options for implementing health insurance markets. However, the bill would maintain some of the ACA's consumer protection provisions.

The Academy's Policy Initiatives and Advocacy team in Washington, D.C. will provide more information on this bill and other health care reform legislation in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for ways to make your voice heard to your members of Congress.
