Senate Hearing on Child Nutrition Reauthorization

04/16/2019 - On April 10, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, held a hearing entitled: "Perspectives on Child Nutrition Reauthorization" with witnesses emphasizing the importance of improving the delivery and structure of child nutrition programs, including WIC and The Summer Food Service Program.

Child Nutrition Reauthorization provides Congress with the opportunity to strengthen and improve child nutrition programs, including The National School Lunch Program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.

The Academy will be finalizing its Child Nutrition Reauthorization Working Group structure over the next few weeks to develop priorities and continues to monitor the progress of the Child Nutrition Reauthorization process.
