Diabetes Advocates to HHS and FDA: Monitoring Devices Should be Accurate

11/02/2018 - The Academy and other organizations stressed the importance of blood glucose testing system accuracy and the potential implications for people with diabetes including seniors on Medicare in a recent letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Azar and FDA Commissioner Dr. Gottlieb.

The communication, submitted by the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance which includes the Academy, urged officials to take the necessary steps to ensure all people with diabetes have access to blood glucose testing systems that are accurate and safe.

A recent Study found that only a fraction of those on the market are accurate in raising concerns about their reliability for monitoring and managing diabetes.
