Lawmakers Request Investigation of Coca-Cola's CDC Influence

02/07/2019 - U.S. Reps. Chellie Pingree (Maine) and Rosa DeLauro (Conn.) have asked the inspector general's office at the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate a recent Milbank Quarterly report that Coca-Cola may have influenced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on issues of diet and obesity.

The lawmakers' letter asks for an investigation of a possible pattern of inappropriate industry influence. The report is based on information obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.
