House Supports Lawsuit to Block SNAP Cuts

01/31/2020 - The U.S. House of Representatives filed a brief in support of a recent lawsuit by 15 state attorneys general. The lawsuit is an effort to block the U.S. Department of Agriculture's rule eliminating states' flexibility to provide SNAP to able-bodied adults without dependents.

The Academy opposes the rule, because the regulation would increase food insecurity while bypassing the bipartisan 2018 Farm Bill and without providing real investment or a plan to support and encourage work.
