Deadline Looms for Federal Spending Legislation

09/12/2018 - Congress is back in session and working on the Fiscal Year 2019 spending bills, which must pass before the current fiscal year ends on September 30 to prevent a government shutdown.

The House of Representatives announced the members from the Republican and Democratic conferences who will participate in the 2nd Conference Committee, which will consider spending levels for federal health and nutrition programs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
