09/09/2019 - To help extend its footprint in eating disorders policy and advocacy, the Academy has joined the Eating Disorders Coalition. EDC is a group of over 50 organizations that works collaboratively to promote policies that eliminate the problems faced by people with eating disorders and that may prevent further people from developing eating disorders.
"Registered dietitian nutritionists offer trusted, accurate, timely, and practical nutrition information for individuals and families, as we translate nutrition science into practical advice," said registered dietitian nutritionist and Academy President Terri J. Raymond. "RDNs play a critical role in the detection and treatment of eating disorders, so the Academy is very pleased to join our colleagues in the Eating Disorders Coalition."
The Academy is currently providing technical assistance on the Nutrition CARE Act (H.R. 3711) and will work with EDC to get a revised version introduced in the Senate.
