Kevin Sauer: It's national, it's about nutrition and it's our month.

Hi everyone. I'm Kevin Sauer, the 2021-2022 President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I have a message for all Academy affiliates, dietetic practice groups, member interest groups, student organizations and all food and nutrition practitioners everywhere: Welcome to National Nutrition Month® 2022.

It's our annual opportunity to promote the work and significance of registered dietitian nutritionists and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered. Throughout March, we will Celebrate a World of Flavors with our colleagues, friends, clients and patients. We will showcase the countless ways in which flavors and cultures from around the world help people to create healthy habits that spotlight their heritage and introduce them to new foods and flavors.

Your first stop in celebrating National Nutrition Month® should be our website That's where you'll find content in English, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Tagalog, and new this year, Vietnamese.

Use the social media toolkit that's filled with great graphics and sample messaging for your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin pages. Take part in weekly Twitter chats. And get ready to celebrate Registered Dietitian Day on March 9.

The theme for National Nutrition Month® 2022, Celebrate a World of Flavors, is exciting and appropriate, especially as the Academy and our profession commit ourselves to even more strongly embracing global cultures and cuisines, and leading initiatives that improve the nutritional status of people from around the world from diverse backgrounds.

Our voices are important. So let's continue to prioritize making them heard. I really look forward to celebrating National Nutrition Month® with you.
