01/11/2017 — The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has received two Gold AVA Digital Awards, which recognize excellence by creative professionals responsible for the planning, concept, direction, design and production of digital communication.
The AVA Digital Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, which fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations.
"Food Is Love" received the Gold AVA Digital Award in the Meeting Opening Video category.
"Food Is Love," which debuted at the Opening Session of the 2016 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ in Boston, follows the unique and inspiring stories of Academy members Andrew Doherty, RDN, Minneapolis, Minn.; Swati Elavia, PHD, RD, Boston, Mass.; Jennifer Hong Heinen, MS, RDN, LDN, Boston, Mass.; Rebecca Subbiah, RDN, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Christine Dyan Thompson, RDN, LDN, Chicago, Ill.
Food & Nutrition's VR Booth received the Gold AVA Digital Award in the Interactive Brand Experience category.
Visitors to the Food & Nutrition Magazine® Virtual Reality Booth, which also made its debut at FNCE® 2016, began their VR experience with a California almond harvest, then toured a Michigan fruit farm, an Illinois hydroponic farm and the FNCE® 2017 Centennial city of Chicago before ending at a behind-the-scenes peek at a Food & Nutrition photo shoot.
