12/17/2019 - The World Wildlife Fund and the bipartisan Congressional Food Recovery Caucus hosted a congressional briefing that featured a new report from nine U.S. cities where students worked to conduct food waste audits and implement strategies to reduce food waste in schools.
The report includes recommendations for increased investment in school kitchen equipment modernization as well as increasing seat time to address school food waste. The recommendations align with child nutrition reauthorization priorities of the Academy, which attended the briefing.
