Americans Advised of Health Benefits of All Levels of Physical Activity in Update Report

11/13/2018 - Guidelines meant to help Americans navigate the type and amount of physical activity have been updated and released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, the first report since 2008, recommends Americans engage in any amount of physical activity for immediate health benefits; children should begin active play as early as age three.

Academy members play an important role in encouraging physical activity for the three-quarters of Americans who do not meet the exiting recommendations.
