CHICAGO – The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Complete Food & Nutrition Guide was recently honored as one of the nation's best consumer health information materials in 2018 with the Best of Show Award among all Gold Awards during the National Health Information Awards.
"As an Academy book for the public, the Complete Food & Nutrition Guide provides sound nutrition information and healthy eating tips in an approachable, practical and positive way" says the book's author, and registered dietitian nutritionist, Roberta L. Duyff, MS, RDN, FAND. "It also serves as an in-depth resource for RDNs as they provide healthy eating guidance to clients and patients at every age and stage of life."
The National Health Information Awards honors high-quality consumer health programs and materials. Gold Award recipients represent the top 5% of all entries, and only six recipients were honored with the Best of Show Award. The annual awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields.
Now in its fifth edition, the Complete Food & Nutrition Guide has been widely recognized as the ultimate resource for practical, accurate healthy eating information for individuals and families. Published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the guide contains hundreds of pages of the latest nutrition information, updated to reflect the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, Academy positions and other authoritative guidelines, food and marketplace trends and more.
The Complete Food & Nutrition Guide shares the prestigious Best of Show recognition with materials from AARP, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins Children's Injury Prevention Network, Redbook Magazine and the American Institute of Preventive Medicine.
