Breeding is a food systems dietitian at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Denver. Previously, he was an advanced clinical dietitian at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and a clinical dietitian at Drexel Medicine in Pennsylvania. He is the chief site operator, clinical nutrition manager and executive chef at Sage Nutritious Solutions, a catering and personal nutrition business.
Breeding is a board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition and has written numerous book chapters and articles on issues including medical nutrition therapy, cystic fibrosis and nutrition considerations for the transgender community.
Breeding received the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' 2020 Emerging Leader Award; the 2017 Trinko Award for Latino Nutrition from the Academy's Latinos and Hispanics in Dietetics and Nutrition member interest group; and was named the 2015 Stone Soup blog writer of the year by the Academy's Food & Nutrition Magazine. Breeding has served in professional leadership positions including a member of the Academy's House of Delegates; chair of the Committee on Lifelong Learning; chair of the LAHIDAN MIG; and chair of the Medical Nutrition DPG's Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition subunit.
Breeding is a graduate of the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College and earned a master's degree in clinical nutrition from New York University.
