Diane Polly

Polly is the executive director of the Shelby County Education Foundation. Previously, she was vice president for compliance and community relations and the Meals on Wheels director at the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association. As a lawyer, she has served on several legal boards providing services to the poor.

Polly is a past president of the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and represented Tennessee in the national Academy's House of Delegates. She was named Tennessee's Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in 2005. Polly has served as a member of the Academy's Public Health and Community Nutrition Committee, Legislative and Public Policy Committee and Academy Positions Committee; chair of the Ethics Committee; member of the House of Delegates; and chair of the House's Mentoring Program. Polly received the Academy's 2013 Medallion Award for service to the organization and the dietetics profession.

She is a frequent national speaker on ethics and the law for dietitians and allied health professionals, and a certified world championship barbecue judge for the Memphis in May International Festival.

Polly is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she also earned a master's degree. She earned a law degree from the University of Memphis.
