Public Policy Workshop

For the first time, the Academy's Public Policy Workshop will immediately follow FNCE®. PPW at FNCE® 2018 will feature pre-event training webinars, a face-to-face training session on October 23 (after Closing Session) and a visit to Capitol Hill on October 24. Included in FNCE® 2018 registration, PPW will be an ideal opportunity to advance your advocacy skills and be prepared with key messages to present during visits to the Hill.

Connect with nearly 500 of your nutrition and dietetics "activist" colleagues at the Academy's Public Policy Workshop from right after FNCE®'s closing session on October 23-24 in 2018 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This annual food and nutrition advocacy summit is where you get up to date on current issues, and learn how to become the voice of nutrition that Congress trusts. PPW will focus on critical policies that impact the health of the nation and the dietetics profession. Attendees will receive top-notch leadership and communications training that will benefit them during the conference and beyond.

At the end of PPW, participants put their knowledge into action when they visit Capitol Hill and meet with members of Congress. Additionally, attendees help recognize those in Congress who have exhibited outstanding service and support for nutrition and related issues as the member(s) is presented with the Public Policy Leadership Award.
