Premier Sponsor Acknowledgement: Abbott
Collaboration with the Academy
Abbott has a long history of collaborating with the Academy to forward the Academy's mission, to accelerate improvements in global health and well-being through food and nutrition.
As a sponsor in the Academy's Corporate Sponsorship program since 2007, Abbott has provided a variety of science-based resources and research for members, actively participated in the Academy's events and programs and generously supported the Foundation.
Highlights of Collaboration through the Academy's Sponsorship Program
Alliance to Advance Patient Nutrition
The Academy was one of the founding members of the Alliance to Advance Patient Nutrition, an interdisciplinary consortium dedicated to clinician collaboration across hospital settings in the U.S. to identify and address adult hospital nutrition. Launched in May 2013, the Alliance was committed to raising awareness about malnutrition and championing for early nutrition screening, assessment and intervention in hospitals amongst the entire patient care team. While the Alliance has culminated, Abbott and its partners remain committed to ending malnutrition in the hospital and community through other collaborations and initiatives
Resources for Academy Members
Through their sponsorship of the Academy, Abbott has shared with RDNs and other Health Care Professionals a variety of science-based information related to pediatric, enteral and parenteral nutrition, diabetes and malnutrition.
Support of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation
Abbott has been a long-time supporter of the Academy Foundation. Through the Foundation, Abbott has funded awards, research grants and other programs, including the Second Century Fundraising Reception in Cleveland, Ohio (May 2017) to celebrate the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 100-year anniversary and raise money for its Second Century Campaign.
