Tewksbury is an assistant professor of nutrition science at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Tewksbury is a former president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Philadelphia Academy. She is a facilitator for the Commission on Dietetic Registration's certificate of training in obesity interventions for adults and a former subject matter expert for its certified specialist in obesity and weight management board examination. Tewksbury is a member of the Academy's Nutrition Educators of Health Professionals, Behavioral Health Nutrition and Research and Weight Management dietetic practice groups. She graduated from La Salle University, earned a master's degree in public health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate from Temple University.
