New Research on Reducing Global and Domestic Food Insecurity

08/11/2017 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service has released several new reports on food security and health. "Food Insecurity, Chronic Disease and Health among Working-Age Adults" examines the impact of food insecurity on chronic disease risk. "Progress and Challenges in Global Food Security" highlights the importance of U.S. food aid and challenges still needing to be addressed. And USDA's Amber Waves blog summarizes research showing the impact of the school meals program on reducing food insecurity. Significant work to reduce food insecurity continues to be done by Academy members across the country and the world.
