Haas is a food and nutrition expert with formal training in culinary arts. She works as a freelance writer, recipe developer, media authority and as a consultant dietitian/chef for Roche Dietitians and the Centered Chef. A former culinary and nutrition instructor at Kendall College, Haas has led numerous live cooking demonstrations on WGN-TV and at the Taste of Chicago and recorded demos for the Academy and its Kids Eat Right program. She is a contributing editor for Food & Nutrition Magazine and writes for its Stone Soup blog. She has created recipes for organizations including Kids Eat Right, as well as for the Hass Avocado Board. Haas is also the voice of the daily "Eating Right" one-minute nutrition messages on WBBM Newsradio 780 and 105.9 FM. She completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University and received her culinary degree from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago's Le Cordon Bleu Program.
